The Eventice

The brainchild of Liz Sinclair, Director of esp recruitment, London, The Eventice has been running since 2011 in the UK and was successfully launched in Dubai in 2013.

The Eventice is an Apprentice style competition that we run in association with The Middle East Event Show and Biz Group here in Dubai. It allows final year students and under 26's to compete to win one of 2 exclusive jobs in the industry. It can be tough for graduates and young people in general to get their first step on the ladder, so this competition gives them the opportunity to win one of the most prestigious graduate jobs available. In the past our contestants have won jobs with Informa, Eclipse Group, Custard, Cheil, Red Filo and Innovations Unlimited in Doha.

This year the 2 amazing opportunities are with award winning live events and communications agency Action Impact and leading global exhibition and conference organiser Informa.

The students apply to take part by uploading a short video onto a website about themselves, their experience, and why they feel they deserve to win. The applicants are narrowed down to a final 12 and invited to take part in a series of tasks over 2 days, which showcase their ability to multi task, organise, lead, project manage, negotiate, network and present. Their skills are assessed by a group of industry professionals and there is an “edge of your seat” elimination half way through. The finalists go on to a formal interview round before making a high pressure public presentation to the industry on the final day. The winners are announced and offered their job at the large and prestigious Middle East Event Awards.

Over the past 4 years we have been very lucky to have helped launch the careers of 20 ambitious students as a direct result of them taking part in the Eventice.

Last year the 3 jobs were with Eclipse Venue Services, Custard Events and Informa Middle East and after an amazing 3 days, Tim, Unnati and Arwah secured their dream jobs!
